    friar dropped into it. He was there for a considerable time.
    There was a man from Clar passing by and he thought he heard a moan some-where near. He looked into the hole and he saw the friar below. He went to the next farmer's house for a ladder and he took the friar up. The friar thanked him but said I have nothing in the line of money to give you but this I will give you, taking out his notebook and wrote an oration on it. He told the man to take this and to look at it every day of his life, and the day he would miss this to send for the priest because he would die on that day.
    Time rolled on for some number of years. This man and his son were digging potatoes in the month of October. That day the man missed the oration. He asked his son to go for the priest to anoint him. The son said "no", what did he want a priest for and he in his perfect health. So the father told him the second time to go and the boy would not
