  1. (continued from previous page)
When the sky at sun-set is of a pale yellow and when the clouds are dark red it is the sign of rain. When the sky at sunset is of a bright yellow it is a sign of wind. When the sky is of a greenish colour it is the sign of wind and rain. When the sky in red in morning it is a sign of bad weather. When sea-birds fly inwards it is the sign of a storm. If the sun sets in a clear sky in summer fine weather may be expected but in Winter a frost will succeed it. A rainbow in the morning is a sign of fine weather. A dog eating grass in the sign of a rain-fall. If the stars shine brightly it is the sign of frost. If the smoke goes up straight to the sky it is a sign of good weather. If the ashes is blue it is a sign of wet weather. When the wind blows from the North it is the sign of snow. If the sun goes down red it is a sign of rain.
