Churning
“The oldest churn ever I saw was a foot churn made of cow hide”
The oldest churn ever I saw was a foot-churn - made of cow-hide - the churn was placed on the ground between 2 people who kept it. Constantly on the move by kicking(?) it with their feet. The butter "came on" very quickly in these churns and it was better butter than what is made now.
There was a cow, known as the "Wandering Cow" she has an unending supply of milk, until a wicked woman, milked her into a "reddle". Then the cow disappeared.- Collector
