    On Benwisken, at the corner of Andy's rock in the Parish of Ahamlish, Co. Sligo, this happened. It is only about a mile from the Derrylihan school. Sheep are often there but there is no one now to venture in.
    One winter day Tommy Kelly of Lyle set off for the mountains with his stick to look after sheep. He was an aged man and on the return journey, wearied and tired, he fell into a great hole called Poll Chiúin. After a while, his neighbours went out to search for him but with blinding snow and rain, they could not find him. Three days passed and no trace of him. Then John Waters was up after his sheep and noticing the dog barking greatly and tearing at a certain spot he searched and found a long empty line.
