  1. Long ago Mr Powel was our Landlord. He owned all the land of Powelsboro. He was a good landlord and was well liked by the people. During his time a few evictions were carried out when the people would not pay the rent. Those people who did not emigrate got their lands back again.
    He lived in Powelsboro for over thirty years. Then his wife and family went to Dublin and some of his people are still there.
