cartman goes to market and fair with a motor-lorry. When he arrives in the town he sets up four poles on the lorry, and fits on the canvas cover, which shelter him on three sides. He next displays his goods. The space in front is, of course open, so that people can see the goods. The cartman holds up an article and asks a certain piece. He keeps reducing the price until he gets and offer. Country people buy largely from the carts, as good bargains can often be obtained. The people use "Cart" clothes for wearing to fairs and markets.
It was considered unlucky to begin any new work or business on Saturday.
Friday was, and is, considered the lucky day to move into a new house, or to begin any new work.
