  1. The Fair of Carricknagat
    The Fair of Carricknagat is held on the first of February each year . How this fair started first is a little bit of a mystery but some people say the travelling people or who are better know as tinkers used to meet there once a year for the purpose of barter and exchange of old horses and donkeys' between .
    Then other people seeing that there was a little business done in this way commenced bringing in old horses also and eventually the fair of Carricknagat became a noted horse fair on the 1st of February . Some years ago this fair was considered more important thanit is lately because a jumping competitions for hunting horses used to be carried out in the fair
