When there is a big storm of thunder or wind it is a sign that it is over when the thrush pours forth his melody. The thrush is a small bird and like the wren he builds his nest in a bush.
The black-bird, the robin and a few others remain with us during the Winter and come to our doors looking for food but all the other birds migrate as soon as they see signs of Winter. When the Wild Geese come inland it is a sign of snow.
The hawk is a bird of prey and very often kills chickens and young fowls.
