  1. It is unlucky to throw out ashes or water on New Year's day. It is Unlucky to throw give away anything on May day. On St. Bridget's day people hang up St. Bridget's cross over the picture of the sacred heart. On palm Sunday the palm is blessed and distributed to the people after each mass. Each receives a branch and they take it home and hang it behind the pictures. Palm Sunday is the Sunday previous to Easter Sunday. It is not lucky for anything to turn on St. Martin's day with a wheel on it
