   Spinning was a great industry that was carried on in this district, long ago. It is not done now. There was a woman who lived in the townland of Corradoo whose name was Mrs. Walsh. She used to spin long ago.

   The wool was carded and oil put on it before it was spun. She then worked the wheels with her feet and so spun the wool. When it was taken out it was converted into yarn.

She used to spin for a lot of her neighbours round about her, and we have parts of her spinning wheel in the house, yet. When the sheep were shorn the wool would be teased, greased, and
