    IIII
He and his two comrade boys,
Went out in health and glee,
    It was little he expected.
    It would prove his destiny
He had no expectations it would cause his friends to weep
But that night he lay a lifeless corpse
    To slumber in the deep/
    V
When he went in the water,
    He swam right manfully
There being none of his tow comrade boys,
Could face the deep like he,
He pointed to an island not far distant from the shore.
It was little he dreamt of danger,
    Where he often swam before.
    VI
But he did not gain the island,
    Till he shouted for relief.
Saying launch that little boat to me with a reprieve
With death I am condoling upon this watery main.
But shortly to the the bottom went
    And never spoke again.
