A drop of Our Lord's blood, fell on the bird's breast, and that is believed to be another reason why the robin has a red breast.
Each bird sits on her eggs three weeks. If boys rob bird's nest's it is said they will be unlucky. - When our lord was suffering his agony in the garden the cuckoo began to sing. The other birds followed her in order to kill her for rejoicing during such a sorrowful time. They did not catch her. That is why she is followed by little birds.
