- There are two forge's in this district. Timothy J Fleming of the village of Currow and Timothy Kerrisk of Ranalough. These two men are the first of their families to become smiths.
Timothy Kerrisk's forge is built in the side of the road. The roof is covered with timber and felt. There is one fireplace in each forge and also a bellows to blow the fire. They used a hammer a sledge, an anvil and a thongs. The smith shoes horses and asses.
