    thread into "hanks". The spool of the spinning wheel was filled with thread and wound on the hand reel. Three spoolfuls composed a hank. These hanks were then washed in sour milk bleached and wound into balls.
    The "warping" was the next process. "A warping frame" was set up at home and "a couple" that is two threads were wound on the keys of the "warping tree." Six hundred couples were measured on it for the width of the cloth.
