- Another story about Eoghan RuadhOne day, two priests were going along the road, and they recognized Eoghan Ruadh, coming towards them. One of them said to the other”We’ll put a question to Eoghan Ruadh, to see if he can answer it.” The other priest said “it would be better to leave him alone.”
However that did not prevent his companion asking a question of Eoghan, when they met.
It was beside a wood and a raven in the wood was calling “Caw, Caw.” The priest asked Eoghan, how was it that the raven had not better talk than that, and Eoghan answered him by the following rhyme.
“Nuair a thiocfaidh an míol mór chun na Mong
Nuair a thiocfaidh na Franncaig go Sliabh Mis
Nuair a chaillfidh na Sagairt an t-saint
Tiocfaidh an caint do’n Fiach-dubh.” K. Riordan
