Both bride and bridegroom receive different presents from their friends such as tea-sets, vases, pictures, and cutlery.
Five must be present at a wedding, the Priest, the party who are getting married, and the two witnesses. In some districts straw boys visit the house, play music, and dance the bride. They are dressed in different clothes so that the people will not know them.
Long ago the bride and bridegroom rode on horses, and when they came near the bride's house they ran a race for a bottle of whiskey, and who ever won the race got the bottle. The bridegroom divided it among the people, and(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
