   of the Castleblayney to Monaghan Trunk Road. The buses run that way into Dublin. There are a good many shops, good houses, and gardens along these roads. There are two or three lime-kilns along this road between Castleblayney and Carrickmacross. The tarred road is very dangerous for horses. None of these roads are new but there are kept repaired. Many hills have been cut and the stuff that is taken away is put in the hollows. Sometimes there are bridges made where there was nothing but a gullet long ago. There used to be an old road near our house, leading from the Ballybay Road to Shean school, but it is only a lane now, except some parts of it. The Old Road which the mail car used to go is
