- Middletown Castle * beside Middletown Co Armagh was blown down on Night of Big Wind. A tree near "Old Mills" in Tyholland was blown out by root.
Pat Hughes (90 years) of Garran told about someone finding a hat the morning of the big wind. When he brought it home & examined it there were initials of some person from Donegal on it.
There was a row of houses at James Mullen's (Carrowkeel) and the roof was blown off them all.
There was a house blown down at Rockcorry & it went on fire. Parts of the burning house were brought as far as Owen Murphy's of Catleshane, Co Monaghan. Rockcorry is a village to south of Monaghan town.* Ardgonnell Castle was 2 miles from Middletown- Informant
