- Once upon a time a man went out to plough in the season of winter. Situated at the top of the field was a big round fort in which it was believed fairies dwelt. Many people heard noise and saw lights at it.
He ploughed a couple of scores up the field and as he was coming near the headridge this time he saw a piece of well buttered bread on the ditch. He could not make out who left it there. At first he was inclined to take it but when he considered awhile he did not take it.
He turned the horses and continued ploughing down the field. When he went to turn them to his great surprise they would not move. He beat them and whipped(continues on next page)- Collector
