Cures
Long ago the stye was a very common desease and the old people had an astonishing cure for it when a member of the family took a stye on his or (her) eye his or (her) mother went to an neighbouring house and asked a child whose father and mother were alive to make the cure.
This child plucked nine thorns form a gooseberry. brush he pointed each one o them to the eye whilst doing so he said @In the name of the father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost and then he threw each one of them across his right shoulder. He did this for three consecutive days. Then the old people believed that the person immediately got cured.(continues on next page)- Collector
