In these simple verses the truth you shall hear.
The deeds of a hero reared near Ballybay.
And they call him Hugh Jackson I hear people say.

His mills, kilns and barns they cut a fine show.
His cloth from the North to the city does do.
For bleaching and lapping he exceeds them all.
And he is best approved of in the linen hall.
