- We have a churn at home. It is three feet in height. It is about two feet wide at the top and bottom. It narrows in the middle, the reason being the milk can not splash out at the side of the lid and the churn can stand firmly on the floor. It is about a year old. The various parts are called the barrel, staff, dash, hoops, lid and handles. There is no mark on the side or bottom of the churn.
Butter is made at least twice a week in the Summer time when the milk is plentiful(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
