- In the year 1903 a storm broke over this country, about the month of February during the early hours of the night. The wind was accompanied by all kinds of lightning. People who were afraid to lie in their beds saw fork-lightning, sheet-lightning, chain-lightning and great balls of light which lit up all the sky. In the morning the country had a sad look. Hay-ricks and corn-stacks were blown all over the country. The trees were uprooted houses were knocked and the roofs were blown off.
