  1. There is a cross-roads in the vicinity of Tappagh National School, Stranooden, P.O. Co Monaghan, known as the "Swan Cross". Long ago there was an Inn and a public house, and the stage coaches called there on their way from Cork to Londonderry.
    The man who owned it had a swan up for a sign, and that is how it got it's name.
    The ruins of it was standing there till lately. It was a mud house.
    In the locality of Dumraymond, Co Monaghan there is a house known as the "Bank House".
    It got this name, because there was a usurer lived in it, and lent out money at
