  1. These lines were composed on a noted jarney [?] named Denny Comiskey who lived at Annayalla. He drove emergency men to boycotted hay bought by Thomas Mc Mahon, a horse dealer of Castleblaney.

    My name is Denny Comiskey,
    In Lackah I was born,
    I was a man of noble fame,
    But lately came to scorn.
    I never new what hardship was,
    Nor did one against me say,
    And the first of my misfortune,
    Was Tom McMahon's hay.

    At Castleblayney station house,
    Tom's friends were fathered all,
    They took me for an Orangeman,
    And on me they did call.
    And to my great misfortune,
    I drove them out that day,
    Which leaves me here in dread and fear,
