when the returned to the cow shed the cow was dead.
The next night when they were sitting around the fire discussing the tradgedys a woman appeared. She told them not to be frightened. They told her that they had lost all their cows and they asked her advice. "You will not have one hour's luck untill you open the hole you filled in the other day," said she and disappeared. The next day they opened the hole, and everything went well after that.
