  1. In the month of August in the year 1911 a terrific thunderstorm swept over this district. It started on a Saturday afternoon and lasted until 6 p.m. In a field adjoining Lisdowney school nine cattle which were owned by Miss Reid were killed under a tree by the lightning.
    At midnight in the month of February in the year 1900 a terrible wind swept over the country. A great number of beech trees were uprooted in Mr. Morum's of Aharney and in many other places. One old woman in the district had a narrow escape. A bough crashed through the roof where she was sleeping and in the morning two
