- There are a great number of places in this county called after raths. There are not many in this locality.
There is a rath in Sandfords, it is circular in shape, surrounded by trees, and small drains. It is believed that fairies live in it, they were supposed to make the ring inside the trees. The music of a piano, was heard, there and sweet voices of girls talking.
Three people went to picnic there, the kettle turned over, and not one drop of water spilled, It is a lucky rath, as Brother D'arcy blessed it.
Another rath lies close to Borrismore house which is haunted, six people were going home from a dance, one night, bu which they had to enter the next field. The man stood up on the stile, and as he did so, the hunters horn sounded, and ten(continues on next page)- Collector
