- There are about eighty round towers in Ireland but there are only about twenty in good repair. Only the massons did their work so well we would not see any of of them now with the rain and snow and the storm beating on them for thousands of years. They were built in a round shape getting narrower as they go up to the top so narrow then that one stone(continues on next page)
