- One day a farmer was travelling through a field. A cross ram attacked him. He caught the ram by the horns. An Englishman came walking along the road. He asked the farmer why he was holding the ram. "I am waiting", said the farmer, "until somebody comes to hold the ram while I am fetching a rope. "Will you please hold him." " Certainly", said the Englishman. The stranger walked into the field and caught the ram by the horns. When the farmer got safely over the fence he said "You may let him go now". The Englishman let the ram go and he paid for it.
