One night a number of men were drinking in a public house. They were talking about skulls and one of them said to Jack, "I'll bet you a gallon of porter you would not go to the graveyard and bring us a skull". Jack was a very brave man and he went to the graveyard. He got the skull. One of the men in the house covered himself with a white sheet and hid near the graveyard. When Jack saw the sheet he was not frightened he took out his penknife and he stuck the man. The man died on the road. After a while the others came to look for him. When they found him dead they got a bright. They took the body home and it was buried in the graveyard. A few day after Jack died with the fright and he was buried in the same graveyard.
