  1. About 70 years ago there was a man living in the townland of Gortalassa and his name was Denis Tuohy. He was the grandfather of the present man, Jerry Tuohy, who lives there. At that time Denis was a young man and a bit airy in himself. He was not married and was living with his mother. He used be out late at night very often and whenever he had a journey to perform he used take his horse with him. He always kept a good horse, well fed and at this time he had a good lump of a bay garren.
    In any case, he was this night in Kilgarvan, I think to meet a girl and he was coming home. It was very late. When he came to Ardmor there was a pig on the road before him. The horse snored and jumped and faith if he did he struck him and held in the saddle. Anyway he got the horse
