    In old times fairies were often seen kicking football and people used to play with them.

    Before milking they used to go three times under a blackberry bush in the name of the devil. People put a coal under the churn for baffling the fairies also.
    An old custom.
    When retiring for the night people always sweep the floor, leave some fire lit and a can of clean water inside. The fairies then never do any harm to the house.
