- Marsh-mallows (fistful); fistful of lady fingers, some fowl droppings, a drop of new milk or butter all mixed in a basin with a little water. This to be rubbed between the horns and downwards along the back to the tail. A drop of the liquid to be put into each ear & another drop into the mouth which the cow was to swallow. This to be done three times once each day for three days.
- Linseed oil about a half glassful with a pint of lime into a saucepan & boiled & rubbe or applied or a cloth to the burn was supposed to cure all burns especially those who were badly blistered and where the blisters had burst
