But I know a Cork woman living in Mountrath, and she used the word "carry" in another sense eg. "To take a friend to a certain place, to the Church or Convent, she would say Will you carry your sister over to the Convent. She said to me one day - a lady friend had called on me and I was going to Mass with her "And is that what you're doing after promising to carry Josie to the Procession. My friend lectured me thinking she meant "carry" in reality, saying I'd let that big load of a child (3 years or so) walk.
