    Some of their names I will tell you
    You will say they are a damnable crew,
    They came from Ferns, Camolin, and Gorey,
    And a band from around Carraigrue,
    There was Val Moulds, Dick Restrick, and Plumer
    Sam Hawkins, George Warren and Boyse,
    And if the devil he wanted an agent
    Of them he could pick his choice,

    But when they couldn't get at the head of the Priest,
    They were not to be put about,
    In doing such work for the devil
    And that every time they went out;
    Said one of those hell-hounds to the other,
    "Dont you see we have still a resource,
    And when we can't get at the head of the Priest
    We will burn his old Mass-house of course."

    It was then that they spied an old woman,
    'Twas Nancy brave Jack Murphy's wife;
    She was coming up to the Chapel to pray for
    The rebels engaged in the strife.
    They asked her where was her husband
    And said if she wouldn't tell,
    They'd shoot her dead there on the moment
    And send her old papish soul down to hell,
