- Hidden Treasure (29/10/37)
I have often heard of gold being buried in this country and in one place it was buried around here. It was buried on Knockdrinna Hill in the centre of a ring of trees. It was hidden by a very rich man when the Danes were in Ireland and the man never came back for it because he was killed in a battle. It was tried by men in the night time. They brought lights and spades with them. When they were down a foot the lights were blown out and it rained heavily and they had to go home. They got a heavy cold and died after a month. That was the only attempt made to get this treasure and it did not succeed.- Collector
