  1. On Hallow Eve before the people go to bed they rake the turf fire and they cover it over with ashes and if the shape of a coffin was out on it in the morning it was said that some one would die in the house before the year would be out.
    On the first of May the people tied little branches of Boundberry tree on the cow's tail to keep them from being bewitched for the year.
