    teachers used to travel from district to district and take up teaching.
    There were no books used as it was impossible to get them at the time. The priest of the parish paid the teachers who taught the children. The teachers generally lodged in farmers houses. If ever a soldier tried to find out who they were they pretended to be servent girls.
