- (continued from previous page)roll of thunder which drew nearer and nearer. There was a flash of light, a loud crash of thunder and Norbert fell to the ground unconscious.
Twilight hovered and the dew-drops were falling softly from the leaves, when Norbert awoke from his slumber. Glancing around he at once recognised what had happened. His beautiful horse lay dead beside him, and further away a large tree lay streached across the forest. He slowly rose feeling very weak, but immediately thanked God for sparing his life.
