  1. One night about a fortnight ago I was visiting at the house of Mrs Darch, Ullard and she told me the following story.
    She said there was a certin field in this townsland where a crock of gold was supposed to be buried. Once, men came from Kildare to dig for it but did not succeed in getting it. It is thought that the Danes put the gold there. There is a hole in the ground where the gold is. Once a man started digging for it and found a little box of money but was afraid to keep it so he put it back again.
    Mrs. Darcy told me that she was coming
