  1. About eighty yards from our house in the townsland of Bally John Boy in one of Mr Kennedy's fields there is a rath which consists of a large hole in the ground and is covered with rocks inside.
    On the outside it is surrounded by little bushes. Old people say there was a little wooden gate leading into this rath but it is not in it now. It may have been broken down by cattle and other animals.
    It is said if anybody cut a bush from a rath something would happen to that person, or else some animal would die belonging to that person in the space of a month.
    Long ago people often saw a woman dressed in white walking around this rath. It
