  1. This is a true story handed down to me from my grand father John McMahon. In the town-land of Ture, Parish of Killeevan, County Monaghan, there is an old fort named after the town-land in which it is situated, namely Ture fort.
    Convenient to this fort, my grandfather lived along with his parents, brothers and sisters. The incident which I am going to relate happened about seventy-five years ago. About that time a neighbour
