  1. Kyle is a townland situated on the Slieve Bloom Mountains near Tinnahinch. It got its name from a graveyard and chapel there. There is a large grave and a slab on it. On that slab there is some writing in Irish. The ruins of the little chapel are there still. It was burned, along with three others, in Kilmanma Reary, and Kiloughey, by Cromwell.
Long ago people were buried in Kyle, and the last, buried there forty years ago, was an old man. There is also a holy well in Kyle. There are ruins of old dwellings there.
