    The seventeenth of February is supposed to be a lucky day. It was on that day that St. Fintan removed the water out of the well in Clonenagh and placed it in Cromogue.
    There is also a tradition in connection with New Year's Day. The old people say that if a person were angry on that day he would be angry for the whole year afterwards. They also say that if a person were sad on that day he would be sad during the following part of the year. There is another old belief that if it were remaining on a Friday it would be raining on Sunday.
    Saturday is considered an unlucky day for moving from one house to another. It is said, "Saturday flitting is a short sitting." May is looked upon as an unlucky month for getting married in. "Married in May your children will decay."
