    There were more shoe makers in this district in former times because now shoes are made in factories by machinery.
    Wooden clogs were used in former times in our district and they were made locally. They have not been worn for the past thirty years.
    Leather was not made in this district.
    There is a rhyme which says - "Shoemaker, Shoemaker, come make me some shoes to cover my feet from the frost and the snow coming home in the morning so early".
