  1. Potatoes are grown on our farm. There are generally two acres under potatoes. The amount varies sometimes
    My father prepares the ground. Sometimes the land is manured before it is ploughed. Sometimes the land is ploughed and then the manure is laid on the ploughed land
    Potatoes are sown in drills but sometimes they are sown in ridges. The ground is tilled well before drills are made. The drills are opened with the plough. No one remembers wooden ploughs being used. Spades are not made locally they are bought in the shops. The seed potatoes are cut in pieces and at least one eye is left in each piece.
