    it is said that a man caught them one time. When they were down roasting on the gridiron they turned on their sides and flew to the well and were seen in it again.

    Out in Ardcarna there are two hills and two serpents used to be jumping from one hill to the other. St Patrick went to the place and he drew a ring between the hills. The serpents jumped inside the ring and he changed them into two stones and said they would be there till the day of Judgment. They can be seen on the Plains of Boyle since.
