  1. I have a churn at home. It is three feet and a half high. The dimater at the top and bottom of the churn is 1 foot 3 1/2 inches. The sides are round. It is ten years old. There is a stamp on the bottom of the churn. Tanner and sons Ltd. We churn three times a week in Summer and once a week in Winter. My Mother does the churning. If strangers come in when we are churning they always give a helping hand. If they went without taking a hand at the churning they would bring all the butter with them. The churning is done by hand. We know by the glass on the lid when the churning is done. There is cold water put in the milk when we are churning in summer to make the butter firm and hot water in the winter to soften it. The butter is taken out with a butter plate and washed out with cold water. Then it is made into prints with the print. Some people put a coal under the churn as
