- On the Big Bog of Allen I was talking to Stephen,
When the gangor arrived all the way from Kilteevan,
Who is this big man I have seen him before,
I have heard all about him from the boys of Cloonmore.

They say he is a poet of musical strain
But that won't sink a carway or make a bog-drain.
Burn's was a poet and he toiled like a Turk.
But every man on this bog, he must work.
III
There is no man exempt not a boy nor a man,
For the gangor is Kelly the boy from Kilaan.
